17-4 Forged Bar Characteristics
17-4 is a chromium-nickel-copper precipitation hardening stainless steel used for applications requiring high strength and moderate level of corrosion resistance. 17-4 stainless steel is 17 percent chromium and 4 percent nickel giving the steel its name. It also contains 3 percent copper.
17-4 stainless steel bar offers excellent oxidation resistance, high strength, toughness and quality mechanical properties at temperatures up to 600°F. 17-4 ph stainless steel bar stock can be forged, welded and formed.
